Quadralay News & Updates

Quadralay on the Road

Extra

Welcome to the second edition of the new Quadralay newsletter, and the first issue of THE WORKS. Congratulations to Bruce Beliveau of Nortel for being the first to suggest the name, which was a clear favorite among the Quadralay team.

Even more significant than the new newsletter name this month is the roll out of ePublisher 9.2.2 with several new features and improvements. Many of the changes in the new release are the result of conversations with our customers along with feedback received during training, or through our services team. This is a customer driven release, and I'd like to invite you all to try it out.

The 9.2.2 release is far more than just another software upgrade, as we are also rolling out more supporting information including new evaluation packages, and online Quick Start video modules to help new users become productive even more quickly. There is also a What's New video presentation for existing users to quickly get up to speed on the new version as they upgrade.

If you haven't upgraded yet, now is the perfect time to do so.

Register here and take a look at ePublisher 9.2.2.

In line with our increasing commitment to customer service and communication we are also pleased to announce that we will be hosting the first WebWorks Conference, to be held in Austin, Texas, during November. Details are still being finalized and more announcements will be made here on the website over the coming months.

In the meantime remember it's our mission to help you deliver:

Your Content. Your Way. Every Time.

Quadralay WebWorks Conference

Mark your calendars for a trip to Texas in November. Planning for the first Quadralay WebWorks Conference is underway. The conference is currently planned to be a two-day event held in Austin, Texas, sometime in November. It is envisioned that the conference will consist of two tracks, one devoted to customer case studies and another more technical "how to" track. If you would be interested in attending, or would just like to know more details as they are finalized, sign up for the conference by email.

Newsletter Naming Contest

Thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions for names for the Quadralay newsletter. We had a total of 79 different names suggested by customers. The list of names was circulated to the Quadralay staff and a vote taken to select a favorite.

Congratulations to Bruce Beliveau of Nortel who first suggested "The Works." An iPod is on the way.

Customer Survey Results

Thanks to all the customers who took the time to complete the online survey we ran last month. The comments and feedback we received were very useful and will be taken into full consideration by the executive team at Quadralay as we plan new customer service initiatives for the future.

Here are just some of the figures that came from the recent surveys:

  • Quadralay products have been purchased by over 2,500 customers and are installed in 4,000 locations in 35 different countries.
  • 70% of respondents have already upgraded to the ePublisher platform.
  • Among our customers FrameMaker is the most popular authoring tool (85%).
  • 51% of customers are considering a move to some form of XML authoring.

Quadralay on the Road

STC Boston

On January 18, Andrew VanConas from Quadralay spoke at the Society of Technical Communication (STC) Boston Chapter program. The event provided a venue for lively conversation and a great exchange of information.

WebWorks visited the New England area to sponsor the STC Boston Chapter meeting and present at the Tools and Technology (SIG). It was a perfect time to visit Boston the weather was a nice 18 degrees which was a just a little cooler than Austin, TX. The monthly STC meeting was well attended and it is always great to get to see our customers, unfortunately an ice storm in Austin did not allow us to send any of out WebWorks pens or flashlight for the attendees.

Linda Fritz did an excellent job of introducing us to all the attendees and helped spread the word of ePublisher. The Tools and Technology SIG was attended by over 20 people and once again they had an excellent host, Ed Marshall who introduced WebWorks. We presented the ePublisher Platform including the DITA adapter.

An excellent Question and Answer period followed the presentation, the discussion was lively and many interesting topics were raised from Version Control/Content Management integration to future of help systems in which we discussed WebWorks Help Dynamic Merge and VistaHelp.

We also took the time in the Boston area to visit some of our customers; we got lost trying to get to Endica in Cambridge, saw a real Emmy and Oscar at Avid technologies, snow at BlueNote Networks and visited Kronos in Chelmsford where we were invited to celebrate a birth announcement at a Brew Pub - only in New England.

We are always interested in speaking engagements and customer visits please let us know if you have any speaking engagements you would like WebWorks to attend.
