Modifying Project Settings : Cross-References

Cross-References

Cross-references help users access related information quickly in your online content. When you convert your source documents to online Help, all cross-references are automatically converted to hypertext links.

Typically, cross-references used for printed materials will have a different format than cross-references used for online Help. For example, page numbers are not generally included in online cross-references because the page numbers would be out of context for online Help.

In ePublisher Express, you can use the Cross-Reference Rules editor to add, edit, and/or delete cross-reference formats for your project.

The Name column shows either the cross-reference format or a set of default cross-reference formats. These formats are building blocks or codes that come directly from your source document. Next to the Name column, the Value column displays the corresponding online format for that cross-reference format.
