This section gives you an overview of ePublisher Pro by identifying the components of the most important windows and the main ePublisher Pro toolbar.
The ePublisher Pro workspace is customizable. The images displayed in this User Guide are based on the default settings.
The following window appears when you first start ePublisher Pro. It give you access to all the tools you need to transform your content to an online format and provides you with the Start Page to easily create a new project or open an existing project.
The Document Manager displays the groups, virtual folders, and documents in your project.
The Output Explorer displays all of the files generated by ePublisher Pro.
The Style Designer is made up of the style tabs containing Properties and Options, where you will specify the appearance of your online content.
The Properties tab is where you can effect such changes as font color, size, and style.
The Options tab is where you assign such behaviors as table of contents levels and page breaks.
The Preview pane shows how your content will look online. The initially generated preview mirrors the source document. Any modifications made to the content’s formatting can be viewed by regenerating the preview. However, if you have made modifications to the source document (e.g., you have added or removed content), you will first need to rescan the document.
The Document Designer lets you apply modifications to your online content on a paragraph level. Use the Preview pane to select the paragraph or table you want to modify and then use the Document Designer to apply the new properties or options to your online content. As with the Style Designer, the Properties tab is where you can effect such changes as font color, size, and style. The Options tab is where you assign such behaviors as table of contents levels and page breaks.
If you prefer to make changes to your online content based on the styles present in your document, you will want to use the Style Designer.
The Format Settings dialog is used to apply settings applicable to the format in which you are currently working. Each format has unique settings. For example, only the WebWorks Help format allows you to specify a theme.
This is the standard ePublisher Pro toolbar. It appears in the main window of the application and can be customized to meet your work style.
