# RMC STC
Back in July Tammy VanBoening called me to ask if I would like to speak at her local STC about Multi-Channel Publishing, as I remember it was a perfect Ventura, California day, (I work remotely - not in Austin), sunny but not hot with a perfect ocean breeze. I told Tammy I would love to visit Denver - name the day and I will be there. Well she asked me if January 17th fit my schedule? Without hesitation I accepted the invitation and looked forward to seeing a great customer and presenting at an STC chapter meeting. As the leaves began to turn and the holiday’s approached I was reminded about the STC Rocky Mountain Chapter’s meeting in January (can you say - snow & cold). I made my flight reservations; I would take the first flight out of LA to Denver and return the next day. As we started to take off last Thursday the pilot gave the following Denver weather report “Temperature in Denver is 7 degrees with clear skies and no snow in the forecast, we should arrive on time.”
Seven degrees!!! Is that C or F? Well at least it is not snowing!!
Let me stop here because this blog entry is starting to sound like a terrible story filled with flight delays, snow and other travel nightmares. Sorry to disappoint, everything about the visit was Great!! Perfect flight into Denver - lovely hotel (Adams Mark) - Tammy picked me up in plenty of time to setup and eat before the meeting, it was just a little chilly for this Californian.
If you are ever in Denver and have a chance to attend a RMC meeting I highly recommend it, they are a bunch that really enjoys to laugh, share Technical Writing tales and some interesting Dilbert stories, on top of that the meetings are held in a former Brew house or Brewery call Tivoli Student Union. (I need to do some research on Tivoli beer.) My presentation was attended by quite a few ePublisher customers including a group from LSI that came down from Fort Collins. I held a raffle with the winner choosing between a free registration to RoundUp or ePublisher Standard Version. The winner was David Wilks and he choose the software – Congratulations David and your software is on the way. I would like to thank Tammy, Kristy Astry, Ron Arner and the entire RMC for allowing me to present.
Until next time
Go Giants!!!
